Samsung announce its 2008 lineup of DVD and Blu-ray DVD players.

Samsung is leading the DVD market with its line of new DVD and Blu-ray DVD players. Leading models include a fourth generation Blu-ray DVD player (the BD-P1500) and an ultra-compact DVD player (the DVD-F1080) that can upscale the image to 1080p. Both players include the latest in high definition technology for extra-fine image detail.

Samsung are among a seemingly growing crowd who support the Blu-ray technology, having introduced the first stand-alone player they are following their support with new and advanced models based on the Blu-ray format. Along with being able to play Blu-ray DVD’s almost all Samsung’s Blu-ray DVD players include up-scaling for standard DVD’s to enhance the image and up the resolution up to 1080p (although the picture is not as good as Blu-ray disks the results are still impressive none-the-less).

The strong support for Blu-ray, high quality of their players and usability have given Samsung a good place in the Blu-ray hardware market, and as the technology improves we can expect to see Samsung up there producing smaller, faster and higher quality players incorporating all the latest technologies. Currently support for such formats as DivX, MP3, WMA and MPEG4 video are widely incorporated in many products, we can expect these to continue and to include other formats as they are recognized.
